Best 4G Smartphones in India Below Rs 15,000 – September 2017


LG Q6 (Price in India – Rs. 14,990)

LG introduced the FullVision display with 18:9 aspect ratio in the mid-range segment by launching the LG Q6, Q6 Plus, and Q6 Alpha smartphones. Out of the three devices, the LG Q6 was launched in the Indian market for Rs. 14,990 and will soon bring the LG Q6 Plus with more RAM and internal storage. The LG Q6 is exclusively sold through Amazon India and comes in Gold, Black, and Platinum color options. It sports an Aluminum frame, but the glossy finish body is made of plastic. On the front is a 5.5-inch Full HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio that offers higher screen-to-body ratio. Under the hood is the Snapdragon 435 octa-core processor coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. There is also a dedicated MicroSD card slot for further expansion of storage. In terms of optics, there is a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front camera. The LG Q6 lacks the fingerprint sensor but includes face unlock and knock code features. It is backed by a 3000mAh lithium-ion battery that is rated to give 14 hours of talk time and lasts up to 136 hours on standby.

Lenovo K8 Note (Price in India – Rs. 12,999)

Lenovo K-series smartphones like K3 Note & K4 Note are the most popular budget smartphone to launch in the last couple of years. Now in August 2017, Lenovo launched the all-new K8 Note smartphone in India exclusively through Amazon India. It comes in 3GB and 4GB RAM variants priced at Rs. 12,999 and Rs. 13,999 respectively. The latest leaks also suggest the company to launch Lenovo K8 Note Lite and K8 Plus smartphone in the coming weeks. Talking about the K8 Note, it comes with the dual camera setup featuring 13MP and 5MP sensors on the rear that offers DSLR-like bokeh effect. With the K8 Note, the company also ditched the in-house Vibe UI in favor of stock Android UI. It sports a 5.5-inch display with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. Under the hood is the MediaTek Helio X23 deca-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz. On the front is a 13MP front camera with LED flash for selfies and video calls. It is backed by a 4,000mAh non-removable battery that also supports fast charging with the 15W TurboCharge provided within the package. The K8 Note is also splash proof, thanks to the Nano-coating technology.

Moto G5s (Price in India – Rs. 13,999)

Motorola has launched Moto G5S special edition smartphone in India for Rs. 13,999. It is an upgraded variant to the Moto G5 launched in the first half of 2017. Unlike the Moto G5, the new Moto G5S comes with a unibody metal design. It comes in Lunar Grey and Fine Gold color options. The Moto G5S sports a slightly bigger 5.2-inch display with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution. Under the hood, it comes powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 505 GPU. The Moto G5S packs 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. There is also a MicroSD card slot for further expanding the storage. In the camera department, the Moto G5S sports a 16MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and PDAF. On the front is the same 5MP front camera as seen as on the Moto G5, but it additionally comes with LED flash. It is now backed by a bigger 3,000mAh battery and supports 15W TurboPower fast charging technology. The Moto G5S runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box.

Nokia 6 (Price in India – Rs. 14,999)

HMD Global has showcased the Nokia 3, Nokia 5, and Nokia 6 Android smartphones at the MWC event held in February this year. After postponing the Nokia 6 sale in India for more than a month, the device finally went on sale on August 23rd exclusively through Amazon India. The Nokia 6 comes with a unibody metal design and a 2.5D curved glass on the front. It sports a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS display and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. It runs on the Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 505 GPU and 3GB of RAM. There is 32GB of internal storage that can be expanded additionally up to 128GB via a MicroSD card slot. In the camera department, there is a 16MP rear sensor with PDAF and an 8MP selfie camera on the front. It is backed by a 3,000mAh non-removable battery that can give at least a day long battery life. The physical home button placed beneath the display also features a fingerprint sensor. On the either side of the physical home button are the capacitive buttons for back and multitasking. This dual SIM device also sports dual speakers with Dolby Atmos support for providing rich audio experience.

Coolpad Cool Play 6 (Price in India – Rs. 14,999)

The Chinese smartphone maker, Coolpad has launched its latest mid-range smartphone dubbed Cool Play 6 in India. It is priced at Rs. 14,999 and is the most affordable 6GB RAM to launch in the Indian market. As seen with the above mentioned devices, the Cool Play 6 is also exclusively sold through Amazon.in. The smartphone sports a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display and comes powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 octa-core processor. It comes coupled with Adreno 510 GPU and a whopping 6GB of RAM. There is 64GB of internal storage that can be expandable through the hybrid slot. The device packs dual 13MP sensors on the rear with f/2.0 aperture, 6P lens, and dual tone LED flash. For selfies, there is an 8MP front facing camera with f/2.2 aperture and wide-angle lens. It is backed by a 4,060mAh non-removable battery that mentioned to last up to 252 hours on standby mode. The device runs on the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat with the all-new Journey UI on top.

Nokia 5 (Price in India – Rs. 12,499)

While purchasing Nokia 6 through Amazon India is a tough task, the Nokia 5 sold through offline channels is the better alternative for using the Android powered Nokia smartphone. Just like the Nokia 6, the Nokia 5 also comes with the full metal body. However, it sports a smaller 5.2-inch display with HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution. Under the hood, the Nokia 5 comes with the same Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor as seen on the Nokia 6. It packs just 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage. It comes with a fingerprint sensor and also offers the NFC connectivity for sharing. The device supports dual SIM dual standby and offers 4G VoLTE along with other basic connectivity options. On the rear, is a 13MP primary camera with f/2.0 aperture and dual tone LED flash. The 8MP selfie camera remains same as on the Nokia 6 with f/2.0 aperture and 84-degree wide-angle lens. Even the 3,000mAh battery remains same on both the devices. But with less powerful specifications and smaller display, the Nokia 5 should last longer than the Nokia 6.
