Apple iPhone 8 & iPhone 8 Plus Are Now Officially Launched – Specifications, Features and Pricing

In the last one month, we have seen new flagship Android smartphone launches from all of the major manufacturers. All these Android smartphones will be now competing with the newly announced Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. This year,  there are no iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus smartphones. For the first time after iPhone 4s, the iPhones will be coming with glass back body. The new iPhones sports Aerospace-grade Aluminum with 7-layer color process. There is also a special edition device called iPhone X which will be available starting November 3rd.
Both the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus looks similar to iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, but comes with a glass body. These two new iPhones come in Gold, Silver, and Space Grey color options. The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus comes with 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch New Retina HD displays respectively. The new displays also come with Apple’s True Tone technology that was earlier seen on Apple iPads. With the True Tone technology, the color temperature of the display can be automatically adjusted based on surroundings.
Under the hood, the new iPhone 8 devices are backed by 64-bit Apple A11 Bionic six-core CPU coupled with in-house GPU and M11 motion coprocessor. This new CPU consists two high-performance cores, which are 25 percent faster than the A10 cores and four power-efficient cores, which are 70 percent efficient than the A10. The smartphones are also equipped with stereo speakers placed on the top and bottom of the device for surround sound output. As rumors suggested, new iPhones with glass back body also supports wireless charging.
The iPhone 8 packs a single 12MP rear camera with OIS and quad LED flash. On the other hand, the iPhone 8 Plus packs dual 12MP rear cameras with f/1.8 aperture, OIS, and quad LED. On the front is a FaceTime HD camera featuring 7MP sensor with f/2.2 aperture, Retina flash, and auto image stabilization. While the iPhone X comes with all-new Face ID, the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus still sports Touch ID. The iPhone 8 is mentioned to give 14 hours of talk time and the bigger iPhone 8 Plus offers up to 21 hours of talk time.
Both these devices support fast charging and wireless charging, but not at the same time. Just like their predecessor, the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are water and dust resistant. The new iPhone 8 & iPhone 8 Plus comes with 64GB and 256GB storage options and the pricing starts from $699 and $799 respectively. The pre-orders for both the iPhones begin on September 15th and will go on sale starting September 22nd.
