Xiaomi Redmi 5 & Redmi 5 Plus with 18:9 Displays Confirmed to Launch on Dec 7th

Xiaomi will be launching a new entry-level smartphone tomorrow in India. We expect it to be the Redmi 5A which was already launched in China. Today, the company also announced to launch the all-new Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus smartphones on December 7th in China. There are also leaks about the Redmi Note 5, but the company hasn’t mentioned about its launch. Xiaomi also confirmed the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus smartphones to come with an 18:9 display and a larger battery. The Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus might come with similar design. As of now, there is not much information about the Redmi 5 Plus smartphone. Talking about the Redmi 5, the smartphone sports a 5.7-inch display with HD+ (1440 x 720 pixels) resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. From December 1, mobile phone users will no longer need to visit their telecom operator’s stores to verify their Aadhaar number with their mobile numbers, and it can be done from the comfort of your home. To recall, as directed by the Government, it is mandatory to re-verify your mobile number with your Aadhaar number by February 06, 2018. “ No need to give  finger prints  to local SIM card retailer for your mobile phone verification… From December 1, 2017, you can do it from  comfort  of your home through OTP received on  mobile  number registered with Aadhaar ,” said UIDAI, the  Aadhaar  Card issuer authority. For the ease of mobile phone users, UIDAI has approved two ways of verifying one’s SIM to Aadhaar. These new methods are: through websites or apps of telecom service providers or through calling their phone helplines for getting a one-time password (OTP) to verify their Aadhaar with the mobile number. Today, the company officially unveiled the OnePlus 5T smartphone at an event held in New York. The launch event is also screened across several PVR screens in Indian metro cities. Pokémon Go developer Niantic to soon launch Harry Potter: Wizards Unite

While the official launch event is expected to be held on October 3rd, the company has postponed the event without mentioning any reasons. Even the Moto X4 Android One edition shipping in the U.S has been delayed due to the production issues. However, the company has recently mentioned the India-specific launch date of Moto X4 to one of our readers via Twitter. According to the latest information, the Moto X4 is going to launch in India on November 13th. It was first announced at the IFA 2017 event and last month, the company launched the Moto X4 Android One edition in the U.S through Project Fi network. Motorola also promised to release Android 8.0 Oreo update for this device. Since the device will be launched after a month-long delay, we can also expect to see Android 8.0 Oreo update by the time of its launch.

Idea Cellular has announced a new unlimited tariff plan for its prepaid customers across the country. The company is offering the new Rs. 398 plan with both voice calling and data benefits. The new Idea plan is available in all its circles, however, the pricing and the validity of the plan differs slightly in some circles. Talking about the full benefits of  Idea ’s Rs. 398 tariff plan, it offers unlimited voice calls and up to 70GB data. The unlimited calling includes local, STD and incoming & outgoing roaming calls as well. For data, the plan offers 1GB 3G/4G data per day. This plan doesn’t offer any SMS benefits.
